Dina was born in Forest Hills in Queens. New York. But she moved to Dix Hills on Long Island shortly before finishing her junior year. Her two brothers are Gregory, her elder brother and Evan. Her career began in entertainment when she was nine years old and did modeling. Her career in acting began with The Neighborhood Playhouse, New York. She was studying the techniques of Sanford Meisner alongside Ron Stetson for three years. The other actors who received such training are Sandra Bullock, Michael Douglas, Jeff Goldblum, Leslie Nielsen, Diane Keaton, as well as other people. Her debut role was Beverly Hills 90210 which forced her to relocate to Los Angeles. Soon after, she scored as the lead role in the movie Johnny Mnemonic, in which she performed the majority of her own stunts, establishing herself as an athlete. The talent agent she worked with also represented Matt LeBlanc so, through her agent she was able score a recurring role on Friends.
